Water Technology

Plastic components for water conveyance and sealing, designed for applications with stringent quality and regulatory requirements.

Waterproofing and water management

Sanitary ware has been a key sector for De Beer, both now and in the past. As a result, we have built up considerable expertise in the fields of water management and sealing.

De Beer Plastics manufactures seals for sanitary and drainage applications from thermoplastic elastomers on a large scale and in an efficient manner, in accordance with EN 681-2.

We also manufacture complex components for tap water supply systems, using engineering plastics approved for drinking water, such as PPS and PA12.

Drinking water or wastewater: two worlds, one experienced partner

De Beer Plastics has over 70 years’ experience in the world of sanitary ware and sealing technology. Pioneering in technology and materials, yet old-fashioned in quality.

Drinking water is often referred to as the most strictly regulated foodstuff. And the regulations governing the use of plastics in drinking water applications are constantly changing. With De Beer Plastics, you have a partner that is at the forefront of components for water supply systems.

Sewage systems are almost as important for human hygiene as clean drinking water. And drains must be properly sealed. As a specialist in thermoplastic elastomers (TPE), the modern alternative to rubbers such as EPDM, De Beer Plastics manufactures millions of seals for drainage applications.

Water channels at the heart of light fittings

Strict regulations limiting the use of lead in brass for drinking water taps present tap manufacturers with a major challenge: brass is almost impossible to work with without lead, yet its use is no longer permitted. De Beer Plastics offers solutions to this problem in the form of innovative hybrid water liners made from certified engineering plastics such as PPS and PA12.

These high-strength glass-fibre-reinforced materials form the new core of modern drinking water taps. Their complex geometries ensure that the drinking water never comes into contact with the brass of the tap. A combination of various components, fitted together with precision down to the hundredth of a millimetre.

TPE is the new EPDM (or silicone)

Modern thermoplastic elastomers are increasingly replacing traditional elastomers such as EPDM or silicone in seals used in the sanitary industry. The benefits are significant: they are extremely pure materials free from harmful fillers such as PAHs, comply with the latest regulations, are durable and recyclable, and offer great design flexibility.

De Beer Plastics is a leading specialist in TPE for innovative sealing technology and regulated applications. As a trusted development partner for the sanitary industry, we save you time, money and hassle.

EN 681-2: the standard for toilet drains

In 2015, following an initiative by De Beer Plastics, EN 681-2 was incorporated into the regulations governing toilet drain pipes. Since then, high-quality thermoplastic elastomers have quickly become the new standard for flanges used in this application.

De Beer Plastics produces millions of sleeves every year, using fully automated processes and in countless variations, tailored to our customers’ specifications. This has made us a market leader in the European market.
